EPC Netbook Tablet - Unable to reflash Windows CE.

Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for doing such a fine job on this web page, and creating such a wonderful resource.

I have just purchased (from eBay) a 7" Netbook tablet. Printed on the back are the words "EPC Netbook Tablet" and "ePad 701" - with this information, I hit Google trying to find info on my purchase, with absolutely no luck at all, as if the product didn't exist.

My issue is, when it arrived, the seller naglected to tell me it was not booting into CE, rather that is was hanging on the loading splash screen, showing me something was wrong with the partitions. Well after piecing together what I could, from the specs as listed below, the closed guide I could find was this one, but with the correct copy of the V1.90 firmware.

Upon opening the unit, I have been unable to identify the correct pins to jumper before connecting it to the PC, however I have found a small set of pins, which when jumped, and the USB cable connected, allow the power light to illuminate, but keep the screen off. With this jumper shorted, I still get no "New Hardware" prompt on my PC as the tutorial said I should.

I understand this is a difficult request, but ultimately I would like to have the unit boot into CE. As mentioned, please find the specs below...

Ok, a quick update n this one.

I've managed to contact the manufacturer of my device and they have sent me the firmware. Unfortunately I have been unable to get any further information on how to flash my device. The product page is below- please note that I am aware that the product specs are different from what I had originally posted, but this is and identical chassis copy, containing similar, updated components.

you can upload your firmware to rapidshare.com, let's see what's different between the anyka product and the S3C2440A product.

why Jordo dont share firmware and guide for firmware reflash??

I reread the topic that you've shown me ... but no solution!

my unit is touch screen, with only one slot USB and the motherboard is marked ZT_NT670_V9_1225 (see pics).

The main problem is that connecting the netbook touch to the PC via usb-usb cable ... nothing happens! and the drive is not detected! .. and the pc does not ask me to install the drive! PC does not detect any external device!?

I tried to do this (at the same time pressing random buttons external or shorting again at some random jump on the motherboard!) ... never result!!Sad Sad

maybe not upgradable via USB or SD card!?

What should I do?? I tried them all really!

I have a folder full of firmware and burn tools (CE英文1.52.rar,USBburntool.rar, ANYKA-1.90.zip, 1.27.zip .. etc..) ... but always to no result!

No help as no one have shared the firmware for your tablet. Jordo didn't share the firmware.

Remove WiFi module, and connect USB-wires directly to pins. Then short circuit DL-JUMP or press VOL+ long time for enter in FLASH-mode.
P.S. After flashing with 1.90 firmware i have problem: Device starting, after loading - SHUTTING DOWN picture

For me no work this procedure .... but I re-tried to remove WiFi module, and connect USB-wires directly to pins!

Итак, как уже отписался товарищ jarvistang в топике https://mininetbooks.forumotion.com/t298-in-progressboot-in-wince, имеется некоторый прогресс в оживлении этого зверька.
После прошивки 1.9, обычно процесс загрузки после проверки устройств заканчивается на надписи Shutting down. Но если после включения устройства перевести переключатель ON\OFF обратно в позицию OFF, загружается рабочий стол
НО :
Touchscreen не работает, при попытке подключения USB-мыши требует дрова.
Судя по всему, до полного успеха осталось совсем чуть-чуть, но чего именно?
Попробую подключить USB-клавиатуру, авось это что то даст...
