I got a v1.9, Amr 926EJ mini notebook which is in Germany, is it worth to use this ROM, will I have face any problem like touch pad disabilities or so?

I have the version 1.90 Who is the REASON to put a new one;

If it is 1.9 ROM the there is no need to upgrade. Yes it seems a little bit silly to hide ROM download as if someone`s netbook with 1.9 is bricked and doesn`t work then no way he can help others without working netbook.

What is the make of your netbook? I have an 1.9 Allfine PC703, so if you have the same, I can send you some files (WinCE 5.0, not 6.0, but I think it's worth a try), I'll try to figure out which files you need to do it, I think there will be some registry tweaking needed too.

EDIT: It seems that I two drivers that might be relevant:
- a "touch.dll", at least in the LocalMachine registry, under HARDWARE\DEVICE\TOUCH the DriverName entry points to this
- a "kbdmouse.dll", at HARDWARE\DEVICE\KEYBD, which also has quite a lot of settings

Would it be possible to write in English, please? It's not very comfortable to use google translator... From the last post I think zou found a regeditor...

My TOUCH does only contain 1 line too : DriverName : touch.dll

The strange thing is that I don't have a touch.dll!

I think this is for touchscreen - not touchpad... (although did anyone see a mini netbook with qwerty AND touchscreen (and WinCE5?) )

Even stranger is that I can't copy the kbdmouse.dll... I tried from Total Commander, Explorer and even command prompt, but it says that it can't copy hidden or system files. I tried to unset the system attribute, but it was unsuccessful... It remained hidden... Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

I will try dumping my ROM and extracting the file somehow...

You can't copy XIP files only dump. And touch is for touchscreen that is correct. I think this can be corrected if reflashing using "factory reset" mode.

Hello there, I don't understand why you would protect that rom until you became a "Knight" of these forums, unless it's just to keep some action going on here? Anyways, I've got one of these noname netbooks with the ARM926 model CPU's, I'm looking at possibly downgrading my firmware versions to make the wifi work as it is supposed to be working.. Will post about this on another topic, thanks, darksix

The 1.9 ROM download is not protected the links are all over the forum, just search. The problem is that not all netbooks are compatible with 1.9ROM that's why you need to read forum before flash.

Download the v1.90 rom here:

Once downloaded, extract this file to the C: Local Drive on your PC (don't choose a folder to put it in, just select the C: drive), it will extract to a folder called Reflash. Navigate to the C:\Reflash\ReadMe.htm file, and follow the instructions on how to restore your netbook.
