thank Otoluk! he saves all of anyka netbooks.

Until we find how to resolve the audio problem(audio too fast Very Happy) when overclocking the details are for Knights only. It would be great if ROM from 266Mhz mininetbook could be extracted so to compare how it is solved on that model.

The max speed I have tested(by accident Very Happy) is 316Mhz. And it is more usable at that speed, the internet explorer opens fast and other program can benefit too. I'm not sure how fast is safe to go as there is not know power consumption of anyka CPU and if overclocking will not exceed the power available from netbook and not to overheat

I'm not a Knight, but working on it to be one Smile I've read in a VT8500 or WM8505 forum that they could do some throttling of the CPU speed based on the CPU load, like Intel Speedstep does (OK, that's a hardware supported thing...). Would that be possible? (Even though I recall that the conclusion was that this didn't result in a very significant change in battery life...)

I read somewhere that the Anyka's ADC and DAC's clocks are somehow connected to the main PLL clock, but it might be through some kind of a multiplier or divider... I assume there is no option to tinker with the audio drivers to solve the problem by software...

Big stuff for knights , not for the rest ... Sad
In some players we can modify playback speed (core player). Just let it go !

Sorry, it will be no use for the rest until audio problem is solved and the stable frequency is found and tested. I don't want to be responsible for damaged netbooks because there are still lot of unknowns. Patience, please. The overclocking now works only until restart, then again the jumper needs to be shorted, USB cable plugged in and the correct registers set, it is no easy task without knowledge. I will publish hexedited nboot which can be flashed for permament overclock when audio will work correctly and I am sure it is stable.

Yes there is some sort of speedstep for anyka, but it is more like suspend when all internal PLLs are switched off except some. For real speedstep a wince program is needed. Altrought it is pointless on netbooks with wifi as there is no suspend option for wifi and it eats all the power.

The ADC and DAC is connected to main ASIC(RAM?) clock and the only rule is that audio frequency should be equal or greater than ASIC which I did as didn't touch ASIC and audio dividers. Seems that the specification is not entirely correct.

Here you go a hexedited nboot for overclock to 316Mhz (faster clocks didn't work).
Anyka_AK7802_overclock_316Mhz.zip

The zip contains:
1_9ROM_nboot64_ddr_V5.0_316Mhz.bin - Nboot(NAND bootloader) file that sets CPU clock to 316Mhz
1_9ROM_eboot_316Mhz_64MB.nb0 - show-off Eboot (BIOS) with 316Mhz at startup and corrects RAM to 64MB. For 1.9ROM

Burn the nboot file with burntool. Nboot is for ak7802 and seems to be identical in all ROM versions.
Eboot is optional(not needed) and fits only for 1.9ROM.

WARNING!! 1. I take no responsibility for damages if any. Please make sure that you are able to burn a working ROM (restore image) in case of failure. As to this date it is not possible to dump a backup from other netbooks then there is a possibility to brick your machine. There is only English backup ROMs available. I would reccomend to try this only if you where able to use burntool succseful before. Backup your data from Flash2.
2. DO NOT USE nboot update under bios(F1 options) it writes garbage and netbook won't boot. The file format for F1 options is not known.

Known issues:
Audio clock still is 2x fast. Altrought it is now possible with 316Mhz to watch Movies the audio is skipping. Dunno if it is hardware or software issue, tried many, many different combinations. I can make it even faster in hardware but not slower. Maybe it could be fixed by software.

Tested on my Anyka 7802 - ver 1.90 . Results by CETree_SysMetrics :
MIPS 152 -> 202
Mflops 0.59 -> 0.78
read on "\" 55.8 -> 79.9
write on "\" 9.28 -> 12.3

Play speed 'double' but can be temperated in Core player using 50% speed.

One large Beer for Otoluk ! cheers

So far (1 hour) no suspicious smell around ... Laughing

Not working for me. Any v1.90 netbook I try it on now freezes at System Initializing, when it worked before.

Then it is not a fault of this mod but of WINCE partition. Try to reflash with clean 1.9 then it works? Or maybe try non permanent overclock on working machine using AKUBHOST tool.

thanks Very Happy i wll test it

Not work to me too, please can somebody make a tutorial

What is your original ROM version? This is for 1.9 ROM only but could be edited in other ROMs too.

xXTheCloudXx

well, before i reflash my anyka was 1.9, but now this rom is not working to me,
actually i have the version 1.87

(sorry by my english)

Oto

The nboots are identical for all ROM, so should work.

sorry but i was try whit 1.87v + nboots 316mhz, but when the system is starting this crash and do nothing more

Hi I need this file for my notebook It has a "AK7802TQ21605" chip, and need to install a linux OS on It please help.
the file has ben deleted in the last link plz update.

Could you please re-upload the file Anyka_AK7802_overclock_316Mhz.zip to another location (rapidshare.com or something)?

The website megaupload.com has been seized by a US court.

Thanks!

Hi, otoluk

Sorry, the "New Link" doesn't work; the file has been deleted. Since it is such a small file just keeping it on this forum will be OK.

Thanks!

I will reupload. I don't think it is possible to keep it in forum there is no such service. BTW this file won't help to install linux at all it is only for overclocking.
