Hi there,
I was interested in a benchmark test for "our" netbook, and found the following program:
CETree SysMetrics (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IMW0AHSR)

I tested my netbook (AK7802/248Mhz/64Mb) under various conditions. Actually, I dont have the saved result files here but the program measured my machine with about 138-140 Mips, and about 0,52-0,54 MegaFlops. It also measures Read and Write Speed to the internal Flash and the Storage Card. I will post accurate values measured on my netbook later, since I dont have them here right now.

Would be ineresting to see if there are differences, and to find out what causes them.
Turning off the webserver on my machine did NOT improve speed significantly in terms of Mips and Megaflops, but seemed to actually triple my write speed on the storage card.
I will research that more deeply later.

regards, zaphod

Yes, i have post my results on annother thread, 140-144 Mips.
I think, the ak7802 will be have pretty the same results.
From my point of view, i´m really interessted in VT85xx or Wm8500 results
in order to compare the speed of the different machines, because the others
have a working linux and i´m not sure if this is only because of lack of infos
from the ak78xx cpu or if there is really a performance issue.

Hi Nisma, thanks for sharing your results.
Yes, it would be interesting to see some of the VT-85xx chipsets tested, since there are some which have a dual-core architecture (I was most suprised when I found out there actually are dual-core ARM chips. Sorry I don't remember the exact type, but it was one of the VT-85xx series, maybe the VT-8505 ?)

Actually, i think that the 248Mhz and 266Mhz displayed are just fakes like the
ram size. There are rumors, that the cpu is capable only to do 200Mhz and for
battery life, that can be reduced too. I really need a program that display the
internal pll registers in order to know for sure the real speed of the cpu.

Hi all,

That Benchmark works. The CPU with 248 MHZ makes 141 Mips and 0.533236 MFlops!

The Program is, CETree SysMetrics Version 1.0 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IMW0AHSR

Yep, i'm getting between 140 & 144 MIPS. Does anyone have a WM8505/WM8500 machine? I'd love to see how they compare with the Anyka.

Hard to believe this thing is 14x faster than my Amiga!

Here is a result from BMQ benchmark on AK780x WinCE 5.0 :

Sources of BMQ could be compiled for AK CPU.

CPUID for ARMv5 Xscale CPU Version 1.7 from Yishin/Yixing (c) 2003-2005

Download : http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley/8491/CPUIDv17.zip

Dosen't recognise Anyka CPU, but doesn't crash..
If someone speaking fluent japanese could contact the author to support AK CPU.. better than to hack the program
